Our Ambassadors
Seven Network Jessica Adamson

Jessica Adamson joined the Seven Network as a reporter for Adelaide’s number one news service, Seven News, in 1997. Jessica began her career at the Stock Journal Newspaper after completing her Journalism Degree at the University of South Australia.

Jessica’s upbringing on the family farm at Hallett, in the Mid North of South Australia, gave her a solid background in rural affairs.

She began as a general reporter with the Seven Network covering everything from the Sydney Olympics to the Whyalla Airlines plane crash and the Snowtown Murders.

For the last eight years Jessica has been the Crime Reporter for Seven News.

The role of Crime Reporter has included countless stories on murder investigations, fatal road accidents, major fires and robberies.

Jessica has amassed a great deal of experience reporting in Indonesia, covering the drug trials of Schapelle Corby, Michelle Leslie and the Bali Nine, along with the Bali bombings, the hunt for terrorists and in 2004 - the devastating tsunamis where she spent two and a half weeks reporting from the devastation in Banda Aceh.

Other career highlights include covering the Beaconsfield Mine Disaster, the sex crime investigation of former St Peter's College chaplain, John Mountford, the Baxter Detention Centre riots - and perhaps the hardest story in her career, the tragic drowning of baby Leonardo LeGrand in the River Torrens.

In 2006 Jessica was the SA Journalist of the Year. In addition Jessica also received the SA Institute of Justice Police Media Award in 2003 and a Citation from the Archbishop of Adelaide in 2005.

Jessica has completed a number of stints filling in at the News desk as a presenter for the 6pm bulletin.

Away from work Jessica is married to Dave and is involved in a number of charities and community groups, including her role as the SA / NT Ambassador for Canteen – the Australian organisation for young people living with cancer.

We are pleased to announce that Jess has agreed to become an Ambassador for Charity Connections.

Libby KosmalaSBHSASpina Bifida

You could call Libby Kosmala a superwoman. Not only has she successfully raised two sons and supported a gold medalist husband; but is a Paralympics gold medalist herself.

Born with paraplegia; Libby always had an interest in sport. After being a member of the administrative staff for the Tel Aviv Paralympics Games she decided it was her time to shine as an athlete. In 1970 she made her first Commonwealth Games team and then represented Australia at the Paralympics for the first time in the 1972 Heidelberg Games in Germany.

With over thirty years experience in shooting; Libby could be described as a legend in the sport; with countless medals and titles to her name. The 1984 Games were particularly successful for Libby; winning four gold medals and breaking four world records in air rifle shooting. The best year for Libby personally however; was in 1988 at the Seoul Paralympics in Korea. Both she and her husband won gold medals at the same time – for shooting and lawn bowls respectively.;

More recently; Libby won the 2007 Open European Championships in the women’s ten metre air rifle standing. On top of an already hectic life; Libby is a public relations agent for the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of South Australia and the President and Ambassador for Charity Connections. With a fine track record; she is looking to add another medal to her swag at Beijing.
